This book was originally published in 12 instalments, each containing a section on La sténochorégraphie alongside one or more biographies of notable dance masters. Of the known copies, only the one held in Strasbourg contains the complete set of instalments. The BNF copy is missing two, containing only 10, while the NYPL copy has a different binding arrangement, in which La sténochorégraphie appears at the front, followed by the full set of biographies. The first instalment contains a pagination error, with pages numbered 24–25–26–25–26–27, though the text itself remains continuous despite the misprint.
